Peanut George is an engaging book that children of all ages will fall immediately in love with.  In many ways Peanut George reminds me of every dog that I have ever had the pleasure of sharing my life with, especially my 9 month old puppy Blaze.  This book is filled with stories of how Peanut George makes sense of his world, from everything to the birds and springtime to the first time his family goes away.  As a substitute teacher, I am constantly searching for fun stories to read to my students.  This wonderful book is sure to top my list of most have reads.  Thank you, Michele and Peanut George for sharing this wonderful book with all of us.

I have always loved a good adventure story and in Pine Woods, Richard Kirsch delivers a first rate adventure.  It keeps you on the edge of your seat while delivering all the action and adventure that you could possibly love.  The characters are loveable and you find yourself hoping that all of them can discover what they need to learn in order to figure out the puzzle that is laid before them.  I feel that this  is a book that any child, young or old will not be able to tear themselves away from.  I truly hope that, as the story promises, "the stones will be called upon again" It would be a shame if they weren't.

The Adventures of Koco Koala and Friends

Friends are people that we can always count on to help out, no matter the danger.  This is true of  Koco and his friends. Koco and Wally put aside the dangers that might come in helping Cam and embrace him as a true friend.  I enjoyed both the writing and the pictures of this book.  The characters are cute and you will be sure to fall in love with each one.  This is a book that children, young and young at heart are sure to enjoy.  As a substitute teacher, I am always looking for a good read aloud to take with me to classrooms.  The Adventures of  Koco and Friends is one that will top my list.  I, as I'm sure every reader, will be looking forward to their next adventure.

The Old Farmhouse

By Nellie L. Beardslee

From the first sentence of this delightful book, the reader is taken back in time to a time and place where life was simpler and family values were appreciated.  Nellie Beardslee takes the reader on a trip back to an adventure filled summer that she, her sister, and younger brother spent with their grandmother.  Reading this book I was reminded of the writings of such book as The Boxcar Children or the Bobbsey Twins.  Each page was a delight to read and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that was looking for a book that harkens back to a time when family and values were something that people cherished.  Well done Nellie and thank you for sharing this delightful story with all of us.

No More Lonely Days

By Christopher M. Lawson

Romance is one of my favorite genres to read.  It allows you to escape into a different time or a different place and experience the feeling of falling in love all over again.  No More Lonely Days is a perfect example of this.  From the moment you meet the characters you feel as though you have known them as one can only know old friends.  Laurie and Tracy are young women that have a lot of strength in them, even if they don't realize it, and you immediately take a liking to them.  Kathryn and Gary will tug out your heart strings and you will find yourself rooting for each of them to take those first steps that they are afraid to take.  It is a book that is a pure delight to read and one that you won't forget.

A good mystery is one that will keep you guessing from the moment you begin reading it until the end of the story, and that is certainly the case in Impervious.  From the moment you meet Emily, you become enmeshed in the ups and downs of her life the net of the strange mystery closes in on her.  You also feel drawn to Jake and you yearn to see these two figure out the missing parts of the puzzle that is unfolding in front of them.  Tonya Victory takes you on a roller coaster ride from each part of the story and you can't wait to see where the next twist will lead you.

From the moment you first read this book you are hooked.  Omegia Keeys takes you into the life of Erika (a.k.a Ecstasy) and you can't wait to see what will happen next in the life of this single mother and model at Passionate Playmates.  Erika is a smart and tough young lady who has a plan on what she wants her future to be like. The characters are well described and you feel like they are your old friends by the time the book is over.  It is a wild ride that you will wish doesn't end.  I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

Romance books are some of my favorite things to read, especially ones that take place in another time and another place.  They allow you  to escape into a different world.  This is definitely the case in Noble Courage.  From the moment you begin reading this book you are caught up in the events that surround Aspen and Thorne.  Aspen is a courageous and strong heroine that you will immediately like.  Thorne is they type of hero that will instantly draw you to his side. Daisha Korth has a wonderful style to her writing that makes the reader feel like they are a part of the action and not just reading about it. It is definitely a gem of a read and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

The Ballad of J.D. Higgins

From the moment that you are introduced to the eccentric world of J.D. Higgins you are entranced and find yourself wondering what will happen next.  The roller coaster of action that is J.D.'s life will keep you on the age of your seat and guessing as to what will happen next to him.  The writing of Jeffery Miller reminds me of the film noir style of writing.  The mixture of action with cloak and dagger conspiracy was just the ticket for this book.  I found it to be a highly entertaining read and would gladly recommend it to anyone.

Living With Schizoaffective Disorder

It is not often that one comes across someone who is truly able to bear their souls and talk frankly about something as deeply personal as Schizoaffective disorder, Susan Beth Nemitz has done so, and done so in a very heart wrenching, touching manner.  Her book is not only one that touches your heart but informs the reader on what it is like to be afflicted with this disorder.  I found her descriptions of what she went through as a child, teenager, and later an adult to strike a cord in me.  We all have family members or friends that have been afflicted with disorders such as this, but not many people are willing to talk about what they have gone through.  Thank you Susan for being courageous enough to share your story with anyone who reads this book, it was not an easy thing to do.  It is a must read for anyone who knows someone who has a psychological disorder such as this.

Silent Stalker

By Ayisha Blevins

I have heard that poetry is an art form that speaks to the trials and tribulations of the human spirit.  Silent Stalker certainly does speak to every part of the human condition, from the loss of loved one to the innocents of playing a game of volleyball.  In reading these poems I found myself caught up in her words.  Ms. Blevins has a way of reaching out and touching your heart and your mind, and making you think back to times in your own life when things as she has described may have occurred.  I found in reading this well crafted poems that I couldn't wait to read the next one.  Thank you, Ayisha for sharing your gift of poetry with all of us.

Yours  Truly

By Susan Beth Nemitz

Poetry is an art form that is as old as time and something that should speak to the reader on some level. Susan Nemitz's poetry speaks to the reader from the very depths of the soul.  Reading her poetry you feel the longing of a first love, heartbreak of betrayal and the bittersweet ache of looking back at the life you have lived.  I was touched by many of these poems, but I felt especially touched by the poem All Is Peaceful.  In reading this poem I was reminded of a time in my own past when I felt the pain and emptiness of losing someone that I cared about while the rest of the world just went about it's business of life.  I think that is the true test of poetry.  If it can speak to you on some level than it is worthy of all the praise in the world.  Thank you Susan for sharing this collection of poetry with all of us.  It is a gift that we shall treasure.
