Justice Is Served

Review by Maryann Nooner

“From the darkness he laughed. “You’re in the game until the bitter end, my dear, and it is going to be a wild ride. I suppose to someone like you who denies what she feels inside, my brethren and I are all much the same. But just remember this, my dear; it takes one to know one.” His voice trailed off in a long laugh that shook her to her very bones.”

Crime mysteries are some of my favorite books. The book Justice is Served, by BJ Myers, (ISBN number 1-4241-8272-7) is a real pleasure to read. It is well put together and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The author has a way of going back in time to explain what is going on in the present. The characters are described so well that you feel you know them. Justus, the main character, is an intelligent woman with many special gifts. She is determined to get to the bottom of the killings, no matter who she has to work with, even her old mentor, old man Fadmeir.

The author makes you feel as if you are a part of the story from the beginning. You feel that there is more than what meets the eye, and in the end your first guess on who did it is probably going to be wrong.

If we are lucky there will be more Justice books.

Justice is Served

Sometimes the paths we choose to take are the incorrect ones, but other times the things from our past can be etched into our souls. So was the case with Justus. Just when she thought she was free of her old career, it came back to haunt her. It was the same scenario that had caused her to leave her old job several years back, and accept a safer position as a substitute teacher, but this was a personal hit, and her heart drew her back. Walk with Justus through her past and present, and see how she prevails in sparing the innocent lives of children.

I liked this story- a lot. The writer does a great job explaining her characters and plots, and keeps you glued to the story line. Highly recommended read! Congratulations BJ on a great book!

Amazing, is one of the best choice of words on how I can describe this book.  Justice is Served is one book that allows you to see the characters in our mind, in just a short time.  The unraveled mystery that has lingered for seven years, comes back to haunt Justus, as she is yet sucked back into the midst of the nightmare, the Doll Maker once brought her.  Great book and I highly recommend it to anyone that is a suspense fanatic.

This story reminded me of a well made perfectly shaped weaved basket. The flash backs in the story were done so well to explain and enhance about what happened in past and present. It was a book with lively characters from a crazed killer, eccentric councilor, hard nose my way of the highway investigator boss, all the way to innocent little girls. There was a romantic interest, and for my personal liking his looks sounded good. The part I liked the best is I could put myself in the heroine place and join the story easily. I think Justice Is Served could be read and enjoyed by both sexes and any age group. I also think it would make a good television series and have a long run with the memorable characters.

The author BJ Myers has the skill it takes to write any kind of books. Her free flowing manner and her logical approach makes it enjoyable. In her weaving talents of flash backs show her talent that not anyone can achieve. I think in the future many will be seeing BJ Myer’s writings being a wanted author and she not being able to write enough to satisfy her audiences. I will be the first in line because I surely did enjoy this book and will be watching for more. 5*****Event!

Justice is Served is a suspense that keeps the secret until the
very end.  BJ Myers writing style gives you enough detail to make you feel as if you yourself were a character in the book looking for answers.  The author brings the past and present together without taking away from the storyline. The down playing of a certain character at the beginning makes for an excellent twist at the end.  Justus is a strong willed heroine that anyone can look up to.  I highly recommend this novel to others and I can easily see it as a television series.

In Justice is Served you will find a story with erratic twists and turns.  An unlikely substitute teacher unravels the path of a serial killer of little girls; a case that supposedly was solved 7 years before.  BJ Myers has an excellent ability to draw you in from the start, then moves back and forth through 7 year flashbacks with ease and without confusion.  I recommend this book to anyone age 10 or older.  Not a long book, but an excellent story.

"Justice Is Served" is a suspense/thriller that takes you on a roller coaster ride through Justus Anne Carney's past and present day life.

Justus is a substitute grade school teacher with a past that no one in her small home town knows about.

I found myself not only curious about what was coming next but also longing to know what happened in her past.

BJ Myers does a wonderful job combining Justus' past and present keeping you captivated all the way through.

"Justice Is Served" is a great read and I highly recommend it.

BJ Myers has a gift when it comes to opening the door to Justus's reality and closing the door on yours for the time it takes to lose yourself in "Justice is Served".  The mystery, the drama, the flirtation all comes to life as pictures are painted with such description that you can't help yourself!  I applaud BJ Myers for being able to keep me wanting more with the content of the story and not it's length and I cross my fingers for more to come of Justus.

Justice Is Served by BJ Myers is a riveting, suspenseful, and utterly engrossing mystery novel. Justus Carney is one of the most appealing heroines of recent fiction and the other characters are also completely convincing and human. The mystery is strong and engaging; the characters very well-drawn and believable; the dialogue is realistic, so real that you can hear them as if eavesdropping; and the story is absorbing. You can't help but cheer and race through the book to find out who the killer is, but you also want to slow yourself down through this fast-paced novel to enjoy Ms. Myers's sentences, which are poetic and startlingly well-crafted. Strong praise to Ms. Myers for Justice Is Served and the highest recommendation! Be sure and read this book, to be sure you see how it turns out, when justice really IS served.
